This week we are going to cover why you should work with an ad agency.
What's up Fish Fans! My name is Marcus. You're watching Marketing Madness, the Blue Fish vlog!
One of the questions that we are often asked is why a company should work with an ad agency? The answer is simple really. Results. If you engage with an ad agency they should be able to show you a return on your investment.
Most companies cannot afford to hire dedicated in-house staff for each of the areas that an ad agency works in. Strategy? Graphic Design? Front-end Developer? Videographer? Content Writer? Social Media Manager? Are just a few of the job titles that any full-service ad agency would have on staff. Large, Fortune 1000 companies have a need for an individual or a team in each of those areas, but most small and medium-sized companies do not have the need for that kind of staff. For a fraction of the price, you can engage an ad agency and get the expertise you need in each of those areas.
Some companies may try and bridge the gap by hiring a marketing person. But the truth is, unless that person is extremely talented, they will not have the depth of knowledge that is necessary to execute a proper marketing plan by themselves. In today's digital world, in-depth knowledge of the nuances of each area in advertising is necessary to show proper results.
The other reason to hire an advertising agency? Accountability. Businesses have to advertise if they want to grow. And most business owners get busy in the myriad of roles they play. Strategizing and creating all of the assets for an advertising campaign might sound like a lot of fun but it can eat up a lot of time. Hiring an ad agency takes the pressure off of the business owner and allows a team of people with more skill to execute the plan. They will hold the business owner accountable by guiding them through the process and helping them stay on track.
Engaging with an agency does not have to be expensive either. Figure out what you have in the budget and let them guide you on how they think you will receive the most results. You always have veto power over any strategy they may pitch, but they might also surprise you with something new that increases your business.
