This week we are going to talk about your business’s content.
What’s up Fish Fans! My name is Marcus. You’re watching Marketing Madness, the Blue Fish vlog!
You’ve probably heard the phrase “Content is king”. You'd be amazed at how when you talk to somebody, they're very vocal about what they do, the business that they're in, or the services or products that they sell, but if you sit them down in front of a computer to write a few paragraphs about their job or services, immediately their brain kind of seizes up and they get this weird kind of look on their face.

If this is you, we are here to help. Today’s video will give you some of the things we take into consideration when putting together a content strategy for clients.
We are going to start by suggesting you create user personas. What you want to do here is picture your ideal customer, give them a name, give them a face, write down anything that helps you define and imagine this individual. This is all going to help you in creating a content. You’ll be able to better define what they like dislike and what they might respond to.

Next we are going to talk about brain vomit. Ok… now that I have your attention… Brain Vomit is a term that I learned studying creative writing in college. Basically, you just get a sheet of paper and start jotting down all of the various unfiltered ideas that you have. It's a brain vomit because there is no filter on what you do or don’t say about the topic you are brainstorming on.

The truth is that many times, when we sit down we have an internal editor that kind of stops us from putting all the ideas down on paper. You just need to stop that filter, get it all down, and then afterwards you can edit it.

Next you're going to want to consider how your buyer persona consumes content. Are they are a teeny bopper or a baby boomer? Are they are on Instagram or are they consuming all of their content on facebook? This will be very important in your content creation strategy.

You’ll want to decide on a style or personality for your content. It's very important that you decide on this personality as a customer who represents your business and not as you the business owner.

You’ll use this information in all of the content that you push out to your audience.

The next thing to decide on is going to be frequency. How much content can your target demographic consume but yet still provide valuable? And how much content can you commit to creating? Don’t say you’ll record a video a day only to fizzle out after 4 days.

To finish up, I’m going to give you a tip. Are you ready?
Don't wait. Get started now. Be intentional with everything you're communicating to your audience. The more that you can do that, the easier it will be and it won't be this kind of fly-by-night, I think I'm going to tweet now... I think I'm gonna update now... It will be something that is planned.
Well, that’s a wrap for this week! I want to thank you for checking in. Make sure to hit that like button. And if you have any questions or comments leave them down below.
